Additional Information   Private Willam Dowall Coubrough enlised on 16th February, 1916 at the age of 32 in the 3rd Seaforth Highlanders. He received the British War and Victory Medals. He gives a personal account of the Battle of Arras, this battle was a British offensive from 9th April to 16 May 1917. Writing, "Dear Bob, we have been fighting since Easter Monday and have only now been relieved as as we are all nearly dead for want of sleep". There is a also a copy of the official account in the Glasgow Herald, dated 11th April 1917.
