World War 1 Summer Picnic 1st August 2015 from 11.00am to 4.00pm - FREE EVENT

North Down Museum has teamed up with the Woodland Trust to o er visitors a World War 1 themed summer picnic on Saturday 1st August. Spend the day with us and enjoy activities such as Edwardian hoop games, period crafts and food. Relax and listen to a brass band play war time music or enjoy a poetry reading session whilst the kids take part in a living history demonstration. Visitors are encouraged to picnic in Bangor Park and enjoy the full day from 11 am-4 pm. There will also be planting a World War 1 commemorative tree at 2pm in the park grounds.

Join us in Castle Park for a World War 1 themed family day out.

Enjoy period music from a live band, play Edwardian games and witness the planting of a commemorative tree in the park to honour those who served.

Living History groups will also perform war time sketches whilst craft and object handling sessions will take place in the Museum.

Come along and bring a picnic and enjoy this FREE EVENT
